Radioactive stent A stent which contains a radioactive isotope embedded within its metal surface
Radiographic Involving the use of x-rays or x-radiation techniques
Radiologic Involving the use of x-ray techniques
Radiopaque Opaque to x-ray radiation and thus visible on x-ray film
Reagent A substance employed to produce a chemical reaction so as to detect, produce, or measure other substances
Reflux Passage of fluid in an abnormal direction, such as reflux of acid from the stomach into the oesophagus
Restenosis The re-occlusion or closure of an artery after a new channel has been formed using a balloon or stent
Retrograde Passing against or in the opposite direction of normal flow
Reusable surgical instrument Instrument intended for surgical use by cutting, drilling, sawing, scratching, scraping, clamping, retracting, clipping or similar procedures, without connection to any active medical device and which can be reused after appropriate procedures have been carried out
Rheology The science of the deformation and flow of matter, usually pertaining to the flow of blood through the cardiovascular system
Rhinomanometer A device used to measure the airflow and pressure within the nose during respiration
Rhinometer An instrument for measuring the nose and nasal cavities
Rigid endoscope An endoscope which cannot be bent
