Barclays Recognise French Kiss!

The Edinburgh-based owner of French Kiss design & translation agency, Catherine Perry, was named a finalist in the inaugural Scottish BID awards. Set up by Barclays PLC, the awards are
designed to support new business ideas.

Perry was recognised for her new business idea: to create an export communication consultancy that will provide Scottish exporters with all the tools they need to communicate cost-effectively, efficiently and accurately with their customers abroad, using the latest technologies available. The French-born entrepreneur offers a unique set of language, design and export talents she uses to leverage Scottish businesses trading internationally. She runs a team of trusted translators based all over the world covering almost every known language.

Perry is also chairman of the Edinburgh Export Club and has two other aces up her sleeve: she has a good understanding of software localisation for foreign markets, so constantly looks for ways to automate routine translation and design tasks to bring down the cost of producing materials in multiple languages. And as a former world championship eventing and show-jumping trainer, she puts world-class drive behind clients with global ambitions for their business.

Gary Wade, Area Manager for Barclays Local Business in Scotland said: I am delighted that French Kiss made the finals and it been great to hear about their success and share their ideas with other finalists. We had some really brilliant entries for The BID Awards and this confirms my belief that Scotland is a hot bed for entrepreneurs who have some great ideas and winning formulas.
