PAL Technologies' has a proprietary technology platform for quantifying free-living activity with solutions for the healthcare, fitness and veterinary markets.
PAL Technologies Ltd was founded in January 2001 and the founders (Douglas Maxwell, Nikos Mourselas and Malcolm Granat) licensed in the technology platform which had been developed at the Bioengineering Unit, University of Strathclyde.
Douglas Maxwell developed the concepts for the PAL family of products and, prior to founding PAL Technologies, he held a prestigious Royal Society of Edinburgh Enterprise Fellowship. Dr Nikos Mourselas is an innovator in the field of minaturised medical logging and sensing technology. Prior to founding PAL Technologies he had undertaken technical development roles in a number of large and small private sector technology companies. Dr Malcolm Granat retains a senior academic position in the Bioengineering Unit, University of Strathclyde.
