MDIS Members in Full Swing in Dundee!

MDIS were present in force at recent events in Dundee hosted by members of the Scottish Life science community.

Raising the presence of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership, MDIS co hosted an exhibition stand at the Innovation Relay Centre Partnership Event run as part of the Bio Dundee Conference. The co-location of the two groups, MDIS and KTN respectively is not as strange as it at first appears as both have core values of accelerating innovation and technology uptake in the health industries sector, through synergy and cooperation across sectors. The Healthcare KTN link with companies is primarily through the Medilink UK association of which MDIS is a founder member.

"The meeting was a great opportunity to show how international collaboration and industry support networks can really benefit Scottish companies," said Kevin Wilson CEO of MDIS. Pre arranged meetings and visits to the exhibition stands were the order of the day with attendance being high at both the IRC partnering event and the Golf competition the following day. The meetings were attended by a variety of MDIS members who found them to be of great value and interest.

The Medtech and Diagnostics sector was also well represented at the golf tournament, held this year on the Budden Links in Carnoustie, with MDIS fielding players from Mediqol, Culzean Medical and IDC Cleanrooms amongst others.

The match was played in good weather and in great spirit with David Richmond from Culzean Medical making one of the most spectacular shots of the day, as he played his second stroke cleanly onto the green from the low hanging branches of a gorse bush!

Bob McNair, board member of MDIS, was the eventual winner of this Stableford competition who can now add, "Winner of the Carnoustie International Golf Tournament," to his list of achievements, albeit in the small print. See you at the open Bob!
