ServicesThe Scottish Applied Technology Research Institute (Scot-ATRI) is part of a not-for profit research & technology development group employing 550 scientists and engineers, and containing nine individual institutes, each with a specific technological specialism and competence.

Based at Caledonian House, Strathclyde Business Park, Scot-ATRI delivers research support to industry in Scotland for engineering and manufacturing processes. Our intention is to give support to the small and medium sized companies (SMEs), industrialists and inventors, providing research and development services and enabling access for those companies to European partners and funding opportunities.

Our effort is concentrated in identifying the problems that exist within organisations, and helping to develop new ideas and concepts that are transformed into real commercial products through innovation and by means of collaborations in European investigation projects.

As an organisation we do nothing alone, always adopting a collaborative approach to research, be it with industry, academia, trade bodies, professional bodies or fellow researchers. It is through this approach that over the last 10 years we have successfully worked with over 500 industrial companies and over 30 of Europe’s leading research institutions.

As a constituted not-for-profit research organisation limited by guarantee, we also selectively choose to co-invest with industry to help build techno-economic feasibility studies and it is our policy to not hold intellectual property.
